A New Home for Predator Free Tamahere Supplies
Rod Berry and William McGrory celebrate the completion of Predator Free Tamahere's new storage shed.
One of the less glamorous challenges of running a community project is figuring out where to store everything.
Over the past four years, Predator Free Tamahere’s traps, bait stations, lures, tools and supplies have lived in a succession of generous volunteers’ garages and sheds. But as people’s circumstances have changed, we’ve found ourselves moving stock from one location to another several times along the way.
This year, we're delighted to have found a more permanent solution.
Thanks to the generosity of Dallas Fisher, Predator Free Tamahere now has a dedicated storage shed in a central Tamahere location. Having a single, secure base makes it much easier for volunteers to access equipment, manage stock and support new trappers joining the project.
The shed itself was assembled by William McGrory and Rod Berry, under the watchful eye of local builder Grant, who very kindly donated both his time and some additional building materials to help solve a few unexpected challenges during the build.
Like many community projects, this was a team effort from start to finish. We're incredibly grateful to Dallas, Grant, Rod and William for helping make it happen.
It may only be a garden shed, but for Predator Free Tamahere it's an important piece of infrastructure that will support our trapping programme for years to come.
